MUGGINGS IN VICINITY OF CAPE TOWN CONSULATE
The U.S. Consulate in Cape Town would like to warn visitors about muggings and attempted muggings on Reddam Avenue between the Steenberg shopping centre and the U.S. Consulate.
While Consulate security and the South African Police Service have taken measures to address this concern, visitors should maintain a heightened awareness and be vigilant when approaching the Consulate.
It is recommended that applicants carry with them as little money and valuables as possible when coming for a visa interview. There is a drop-off point at the Consulate main entrance; however, parking at the U.S. Consulate is available only for disabled persons and senior citizens.
