Congress visits Cape Orphans

A U.S. congressional delegation  visited Siyaphambili Orphan Village, in Langa on the Cape Flats, on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 to hear about the project’s work and to interact with the children who regularly come to the village.Many of these children have been orphaned or affected by HIV/AIDS.

The delegation, which included U.S. Representatives Lacy Clay (D-MO), G.K. Butterfield (D-NC), Gwen Moore (D-WI) and Steve Cohen (D-TN), provided McDonald’s Happy Meals and brought gifts to the children.
