Agricultural Training for South Africans

Fourteen South Africans will soon travel to the United States to participate in Cochran Fellowships, personalized two to four week agricultural training programs sponsored by the United States’ Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service.
Over 280 South Africans have participated in the Cochran Program since 1995, in subjects such as agribusiness, credit financing, animal health, grades and standards, general technical assistance, livestock production and management, marketing, to pesticide residue. The Cochran Fellowship Program has provided U.S. based training for over 13,000 international participants from 103 countries worldwide.
This year, South African participants include employees of the South African National Department of Agriculture, National Emergent Red Meat Producers’ Organization, Agricultural Business Chamber, GWK Limited, Pretoria University, and Pioneer Foods, as well as members of the private sector.
