The American Library in South Africa Hosts Reception at International Library Congress

On August 19 the American Library in South Africa, together with Consul General Eugene Young and Public Affairs Officer Riley Sever hosted a welcoming reception in honor of U.S. delegates attending the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions World Library and Information Congress in Durban.

More than 90 SA and US delegates attended this event at Mr. Sever's residence. Guests included senior representatives from different American library associations, major schools of library and information studies, as well as the Library and Information Association of South Africa. Mr. Young offered welcoming remarks, while Mr. Sever highlighted the importance of American Libraries in forging public diplomacy.
