East London NGOs Receive HIV/AIDS Books

August 6, 2007

In conjunction with U.S. Fulbrighter Susan Kreston’s program on domestic violence in East London, our Public Affairs Office in Cape Town donated approximately 50 books on HIV/AIDS care to two well-established NGOs in the area, the Masimanyane Women’s Support Centre, and the Institute for Training and Education for Capacity Building.

Masimanyane is a large NGO in the greater East London area, working with home health care workers and caregivers.  The organization only recently started a library, and our donation is the first real collection they have on their shelves.  The books were presented before a large group of magistrates, who were particularly impressed with the scope of coverage of the titles.
