2011 African Growth and Opportunity Act Forum
The United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Trade Representative Ron Kirk will be among at least 600 participants expected to attend the 10th African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum.
The forum, whose proposed theme is 'Enhancing Productivity and Value Addition for Deeper Economic Integration', will be held at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre from June 7 to 8, 2011.
Delegations to the AGOA forum are expected to include cabinet secretaries, African ministers, congressional delegates, civil society, the Corporate Council on Africa and trade, investment and development experts from the US and Africa. There are 38 countries in Sub Saharan Africa that are eligible for AGOA.
The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is a United States trade act that significantly enhances U.S. market access for 37 Sub-Saharan African countries. About 7,000 products from AGOA eligible countries can enter the US duty free.
