International Engagement Conference for South Sudan
The United States is hosting the International Engagement Conference for South Sudan December 14-15 in Washington, D.C., to honor the new nation and commence a development and investment dialogue with the Government of South Sudan. The conference will outline the Government of South Sudan's strategic development priorities and highlight opportunities for engagement with public and private sector partners.
On December 14th, Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton delivered remarks at the International Engagement Conference for South Sudan, saying "On July 9th, we celebrated as the world's newest country came into being. That is one part of the story. What we do today is critical if that story is to have a happy ending."
