Non-Immigrant Visas

How to Apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa

Step 1 Introduction: Learn more about the process -- Whether you need a visa, whether to apply in person, how we evaluate visa eligibility, categories of visa.

Step 2 Make an Appointment to visit the U.S. Consulate General that covers your region.

Step 3 Download and complete the visa application forms. By using the internet to complete your forms online, you can save yourself as much as an hour or more of waiting while submitting your application at the Consulate.

Step 4 Gather the Required Supporting Documentation. Find out what documents should accompany your nonimmigrant visa application. Please do not send any supporting documents in advance of your interview.

Step 5 Pay the Non-Refundable Visa Application Fee. Make a cash deposit at any branch of FNB (First National Bank). No other form of transaction is permitted.
THE RECEIPT FROM FNB MUST SAY “CUSTOMER COPY” IN THE BOTTOM LEFT HAND CORNER.  Applicants should verify that they have the correct receipt before leaving the bank.  The consulates will only be able to accept receipts that say “CUSTOMER COPY.”

Step 6 Have Your Photo Taken -- The dimensions are very specific.

Step 7 Submit Your Application in person to the U.S. Consulate General that covers your region.
