Undergraduate Admission

Most U.S. universities require SAT and TOEFL exams.  Please check first on each university’s website.   

  • SAT Reasoning and SAT Subject Tests
    The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is offered on average six times a year outside of the United States. Not all the following testing centers offer it on all dates:  the U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg, University of Witwatersrand, the African Leadership Academy in Honeydew, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Henley-on-Klip, the African Union International School in Midrand, and Bohmer Secondary School in BloemfonteinTo learn about costs, how to book, test dates and procedures, you need  to register
  • ACT from ACT Inc
     
    The ACT is offered 5 times a year in South Africa. For information on registration, fees and test centers, please click the link above.

English Language Ability

  • TOEFL from the Educational Testing Service
    The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is offered on average three times a month in South Africa.  To learn about costs, payment methods, test dates and procedures, and for useful test preparation info, please visit their web site


Graduate Admission

Graduate Admission (Masters and Doctorate/PhD programs including M.B.A.):  Please check the university’s website to confirm which exams are required. The TOEFL exam is also often required (please see above). 

  • GRE from the Educational Testing Service
    The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for post-graduate studies is offered multiple times a month in South Africa.  To learn about cost, test dates and test centers, for useful test preparation info, and to register for the exams, please visit their web site. 
  • GMAT from the Graduate Management Admission Council
    The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) for Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) programs is offered multiple times a month at Pearson Professional Centres in Sandton, Johannesburg and the International Testing Center in Pretoria.  It costs $250.00. To learn about test dates and procedures, you need to register.
