Graduation at Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls

Saturday, January 14, Consul General Earl Miller attended the graduation of the first ever class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.  Ten percent of the young women will be attending university in the United States at either Johnson C. Smith University, Mt. Holyoke, Spelman, or Wellesley Colleges.  The Consulate will be offering them, and other South African students, a pre-departure briefing later this year to help them transition to the United States.  For more information about our education advising services, please see http://southafrica.usembassy.gov/educational-advising.html
