A dozen students from the University of Michigan, on a study tour to examine social issues in South Africa, visited the U.S. Consulate on May 9. Besides meeting with Consul General Earl Miller and learning about the Consulate’s functions, the students heard from several South African employees about their personal experiences of the Soweto uprising. The American students have visited Bloemfontein and Johannesburg and soon head to Cape Town.
