Press availability immediately preceding the launch allowed Ms. Judd and New Start officials to explain the purpose of the new Centre which will complement government's VCT program and encourage South Africans to know their HIV status. New Start is supported by the South African government and the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
